The Endless Journey

by Thyx

on Below the City (2013)

Freedom from the debt of ignorance is bliss
Without it life's joys pale and remiss
A fortune left unspent and untold
A mind discarded and to the peddler; sold

Happiness is born on the wings of a kiss
Take heed of the lesson so many dismiss
When thinking and speaking, always be bold
Lest death take your heart while it beats; cold

Make no mistake, the price for complacency is dire
For without passion: all aspirations fire
But time surely waits for NO men
Instead it strangles those without a plan

Chains burden and restrict while ropes chafe and bind
When living in a world where thoughts are confined
For an era and a day, I have paid this toll
Lacking in any design, destination, or goal

Let imagination and inspiration guide your mind
To places of serenity and focus where you shall find
A world of inside, guided by the depths of your soul
Where thoughts become realities and the mind becomes whole

Make no mistake, the price for complacency is dire
For without passion: all aspirations fire
But time surely waits for NO men
Instead it strangles those without a plan

I've lived for so long in the darkness of the mire
Too afraid to climb the steps of that great spire
With courage into the battle I finally ran
And thus this epic journey began...
