The Invisible Man
by Schaffer The Darklord
on Manslaughterer (2009)
STD:
Up in his lab, strapped into a slab
Was a scientist, a genius, but totally mad
Cast out by his peers and stripped of his licenses
Led the man to dabble in unethical sciences
To them, he had all but disappeared until he
Figured out how to take invisibility literally
A success was his experiment apparently
Because he turned transparent, see?
Psych! You can't see him, in fact nobody can
An intended effect, a diabolical plan
To make his skeptical colleagues all laughable and
To make himself the infallible, invincible, invisible man!
SHAEL:
Nobody sees the invisible man
And nobody cares where it is that he stands
And nobody notices the touch of his hand
He'd be invincible, had he a plan
He's the invisible man
STD:
Crash was the smashing of glass in his lab
He trashed all that he had with his invisible hands
And cast off his clothes, dashed into the night
To wreak havoc in the open, yet still out of sight
To go places, where he should never have been
To gain access to things he should never have seen
In silence, he crept like a cat on a beam
To make violence for ex-members of his research team
And he dreamed that at last they soon would understand
He had become an immortal, far more than a man
And they would beg for forgiveness, they'd admit they'd been beat
They would worship the ground beneath invisible feet
And they never saw him coming when he came to collect
Their respect, but they heard him and the mess as he wrecked
The labs of other scientists, down the hall to the west
It seems a side-effect occurred that no one would have guessed
SHAEL:
Nobody sees the invisible man
And nobody cares where it is that he stands
And nobody notices the touch of his hand
He'd be invincible, had he a plan
He's the invisible man
STD:
This maniac had pulled off just what he'd seen to
In making every last part of his body see-through
But one little oversight he hadn't expected was
His entire body included his retinas
Now with light passing through them unchanged
None was converted to info and bounced to his brain
Oh imagine how surprised our hero was to find
That becoming invisible also meant being blind
So his misdirected vengeance was his only true legacy
Or at least a mere example of irony
The very people who had turned a blind eye to him
No longer saw him, nor could he any longer see them
And he.. just wanted recognition
But seems he failed in his mission
He sacrificed his own vision
But really - what did it get him?
SHAEL:
He can't be seen, he cannot see
He wreaks his havoc, flees his scene
He can't be seen, he cannot see
He wreaks his havoc, flees his scene
Nobody sees the invisible man
And nobody cares where it is that he stands
And nobody notices the touch of his hand
He'd be invincible, had he a plan
He's the invisible man
