Summer's On The Ground

Summer's On The Ground

by Leah Senior

on Summer's On The Ground (2015)

Like an Autumn leaf the slightest breeze
Would bring me down
Summer's on the ground
And I can't be a lover all year round

And you are getting older
And the bottle you're holding isn't enough
You are empty as a bluff
And I cannot hold you in the rough

Like a Winter coat
I hang most of the year alone
I am better on my own

When the sun goes and all is dark
Take me out in boots and scarf
And we can talk
About the love that's come to pass
We can talk until we laugh

Leaves blushing in the romance of the Summer turning blue
And everyone is rushing as the year begins to move
And all he asks of me is but to sing a song or two

When the sun goes and all is dark
Take me out in boots and scarf
And we can talk
About the love that's come to pass
We can talk until we laugh [x3]
