If I Were In Your Shoes

by Hank Thompson

on Pathway of My Life 1966 - 1986, Part 7 of 8 (2013)

If I were in your shoes I'd be walking out on me
If you're looking for the future don't look to me
I think if I were you such a fool I'd never be
And if I were in your shoes I'd be walking out on me

If your head had done the talking and not your heart
Your feet would have kept walking honey right from the start
I always remember you because you believed in me
But if I were in your shoes I'd be walking out on me

If I were in your place I'd find a better place to be
Hearts and flowers never were my kind of dreams
I think it's time you faced it love is wasted on me
And if I were in your shoes I'd be walking out on me

If your head had done the talking and not your heart...
