Freedom
by G-Lou
on Everyday Exceptions (2019)
Hook
And we dream of being free
Time to breakaway the chains
Forget about the pain
Just dance in the rain
As everybody sings
Freedom
And we dream of being free
Verse 1
One Day
Even God let man rest on a Sunday
But some days I need more than one day
To explore my mind take a vacae
Relax and catch some sun rays
Letting my lady sun bathe
Riding the ocean waves
Watching the doggies play
What a wonderful escape
It's a blessing to embrace
Such a beautiful place
A peaceful getaway
For the days that we prayed
To share moments like this
Sit back and reminisce those
Sleepless nights and teary
Eyes wishing on the stars
In the sky
Will an angel save my life
Does God see my sacrifice
I just need to see a sign
That everything will be fine
Please God ease my mind
Be careful what you wish for
Cause he went ahead and broke my spine
I was sidelined with my thoughts
Reflecting every chance that I got
Was it my shot I guess not
It's a lesson taught
In humbleness and patience
My soul's fully awaken
For the free time
I should thank him
Hook
And we dream of being free
Time to breakaway the chains
Forget about the pain
Just dance in the rain
As everybody sings
Freedom
And we dream of being free
Verse 2
Give me liberty
Or give me death
No longer do I need to stress
Cause my life is more than this
Cycle of unhappiness
Wasting my days away
Underpaid and betrayed
By a system where I have no say
These rules weren't made for me
Still many behave just like a slave
No questions raised
But lets escape
I found a way
For better days
Like they say
You get what you take
And I ain't taking no more
Life was meant to explore
The choice is always yours
Til it isn't
Lets escape this prison
Hook
And we dream of being free
Time to breakaway the chains
Forget about the pain
Just dance in the rain
As everybody sings
Freedom
And we dream of being free
Time to breakaway the chains
Forget about the pain
Just dance in the rain
As everybody sings
Freedom
