PROVIDENCE

Look back at my life
How I made it through the strife
I must be alive for a reason
Divine intervention
Took me out the bottomless pit
Black gloves finally put in a mansion I will never forget
Could have been killed in '89 at the mascara
Narrow escape, somebody took me out of Kakata
They brought a bloody war to Liberia
I'm trapped in refugee camps, fightin' malaria
Relocated to Bo, in Sierra Leone started losin' my hope
I couldn't cope with the poverty
They're tired of me
Crazy situation had me breakin' the rules
Somebody handed me a riffle told me, Freddy if you're cool
Then you'd burst at these fools
Nightmares from the bodies and the posse'
Now I'm gettin' stalked by paparazzi
Guilt, sittin' in my chest and it's hurtin' my soul
I'm gettin' bent like I'm walkin' on stilts
Time fly
Wet the ground from the tears I cry
Wrote letters to my parents but they never replied

Providence
Came to me when I had no confidence
Those who don't know, accuse me but they've got no evidence
I told God please give me a chance
Don't see a future for me losin' my hands

And my mama said my daddy ain't doin' so well
My relatives done took the money now I'm livin' in Hell
I got blessed with this Providence
No confidence, once I thought it was lost
He gave me a second chance

Providence! Providence!
I put all my confidence
In everythin' that you say
So take me by the hand, and lead me all the way
Pardon my steps and never let me slip back
To the world, I used to know
Providence! Providence!
Most omnipotent never ever let me go

Father God
Hear my prayer
Don't let me stray away
Please keep me near
Near to my heart, inside your mind
Protect my soul, let ya love light shine

I don't know why
My life was this
What I do know
Death threw me a miss

It wasn't luck, it wasn't chance
But for your lovin' grace and your Providence

I'm still young in this industry
Y'all gone see, still strong gettin' tipsy
At an early age, I became a G
Because they made me an animal
Sixteen tossed in the streets became an animal
I ran from cannibals, had to get a criminal
Laid low, I had nowhere to go
Now I get doe from New Jersey to Toronto
Everybody knows I step back when the wind blows
I ain't pushin' weight
Got a cushion, if I ever fall off
They won't laugh but they'll playa hate
Close the gate, only God could decide my fate
I've got a clean slate
How I stayed out of prison, ain't commit the treason
I love my country even though it's sick with racism
Tell my African friends it's time to stop the tribalism
I've got it back platinum with a pot to piss in
So black, so sic on the track
So politically correct but I'm far from wack

Providence! Providence!
I put all my confidence
In everythin' that you say
So take me by the hand, and lead me all the way
Pardon my steps and never let me slip back
To the world, I used to know
Providence! Providence!
Most omnipotent never ever let me go

Providence
Came to me when I had no confidence
Those who don't know, accuse me but they've got no evidence
I told God please give me a chance
Don't see a future for me losin' my hands

And my mama said my daddy ain't doin' so well
My relatives done took the money now I'm livin' in Hell
I got blessed with this Providence
No confidence, once I thought it was lost
He gave me a second chance

Providence! Providence!
I put all my confidence
In everythin' that you say
So take me by the hand, and lead me all the way
Pardon my steps and never let me slip back
To the world, I used to know
Providence! Providence!
Most omnipotent never ever let me go
