Hemispheres

Rainbow Sky

by Dan Siegel

on Hemispheres (1995)

Looking out this morning at a rainbow sky
Red and orange over gold
They say today that we'll fight our foes
See their yellow eyes, save their souls
Marching out into a sea of lavender and lime
Flowers line the roam
I loaded up my weapon and I see the blue in Milo's eyes
And I miss home

The rainbow sky blurs in my tears
Colors blend together well up there
I don't want to fight
I don't want to be right
Love's never black or white
These eyes long for the rainbow sky

Waiting out the enemy
I'm crawling through the green
White flying all around me
Blues and blue birds, butterflies are falling from the trees
Crashing down all around me
You look red, I look white
And now we're all alone
So I pull my gun to fight
Looking in your yellow eyes I see the fear I know
Before you die

The rainbow sky blurs in my tears
Colors blend together every where
You can have your fight
You can prove that you're right
Hate comes in black or white
These eyes long for the rainbow sky
These eyes long for the rainbow sky
The rainbow sky
Rainbow sky
Rainbow sky
